This is an original piece that has been hand drawn onto a piece of wood, wood type varies by ornament. Linework and shading was then hand wood burned into the surface. Afterward the purple raven was painted with watercolors and a touch of gouache. This ornament also features the explosive nature of gunpowder, the tips of the tail feathers are made from gunpowder and the dust of the lift off is made out of black powder.
Ornaments do not have a sealant. They are not recommended for high wear and tear purposes. They are made from real wood and subject to cracking if left in extreme light. For this reason I don’t recommend hanging in a window (although some customers have enjoyed doing so). Each ornament comes with a Twine loop for easy hanging.
While the purple raven is a one of a kind handmade work of art, this design may be reproduced in the future. It may also be sold as prints and/or stickers.
