Essence of Kapok Tree

Description

The large and looming Kapok Tree is a powerful example of the importance of great trees. Kapok Trees provide shelter and food for a wide range of animals among the Amazon Jungle. 

This is an original piece that has been hand drawn onto a piece of Basswood. Linework and shading was then hand wood burned into the surface. Afterward all the creatures of The Great Kapok tree were painted with watercolors and a touch of gouache.

There is a clear gloss lacquer spray for archival protection. Every piece has a wire hanger across the back for easy hanging. “Essence of Kapok Tree” is a one of a kind work of art, and will never be reproduced other than limited prints and stickers. It is also part of a series of works featuring ecosystems from around the world.
